A phone-call in for a Toyota Land Cruiser Transmission Q&A. Mr. Scott, patiently and cheerfully answered the phone after closing hours 4PM Sunday and gave me valuable information on what needs to happen next on the proper diags prior to incurring expensive transmission replacement expenses. Great Man & Mind; There are indeed honest and competent auto mechanics in town. I live in Dallas.

Barebones is hands-down the best place to take your vehicle. They are very nice, they won’t do unnecessary work, and they think of things to make your life easier. These guys will get my business until I die. They are the absolute best people around, and for sure the best mechanics I have ever dealt with.

These guys are very good and extremely helpful. They have done work on my 2014 Ford F-450 at a very fair price and I have had no further issues with the items that were repaired. The work was done for the price quoted, work was completed on time and the truck was ready to go. I specifically mention they are very helpful. Two days before having to leave on a trip with the truck, the sensor in the DEF tank started acting up. I brought the truck in late in the afternoon and their mechanic worked on it that evening to diagnose the issue, had parts the next morning and the repair completed by noon. And all the work was done at a fair price. If you need vehicle repair work, this is the place to bring your vehicle. Fair price and great service.

Totally honest I recently had a 2014 ford at BareBones to diagnose a no crank no start condition. After several days of John and his techs working they were unable to find the problem. The vehicle was sent to Ford. John released the vehicle at NO CHARGE and was very apologetic. Even though they were not able to help I’d without a doubt use them again. They kept me updated, often several times a day and communicated well. Many thanx to John and his crew for the total honesty and customer loyalty they have shown. AJ

Please make sure you get multiple quotes before deciding on a mechanic. This place way over quoted for a job I needed done on my car. Its a shame because I was looking for a mechanic to do some work on another car we own too. *Well who ever quoted me the price for the job I needed must have thought I was an uneducated female. He was very wrong. Everyone came in between $40.00 to $80.00. Yall quoted just under 400!!!

We have the lowest parts and labor costs in Denton County. We encourage our customers to get written estimates and make sure they are educated.

Traveling from Iowa to Harlingen we broke down on the interstate. We were towed in. Parts obtained for an old Lexus SC and back on the road by 6. We didn't arrive until 3 o Pm. They went out of their way to see we were comfortable and kept us informed on progress. Than You!!

DISCLAIMER: I am a former employee of this shop and have not held an ongoing friendship (or any other sort of relationship) with anyone working at this shop. I have worked at a few automotive repair shops that some would call "Mom and Pop shops" in the past and have found something quite spectacular with Barebones. They are truly the most honest shop that I have ever had the pleasure of working for. The owner, John, is a very knowledgeable mechanic that knows more about cars than most mechanics that I have met. He is willing to go out there and pick up some slack that is caused by the very heavy flow of loyal customers that he has accrued. The front man, Stephan (pronounced Steph-an), has created an unbreakable relationship with each and every customer that walks through the door. He goes out of his way to make sure that the customer is not having to pay outrageous prices to keep their car driving safely, and will prioritize a work order with what needs to be done immediately vs what can wait til some more money is saved up to fix it. He is an EXTREMELY charismatic man that will do whatever it takes (except lie) to make sure his customers feel safe. As for the technicians, they made a deal with the owner to provide free diagnosis's to the community because they don't want people afraid of going to a mechanic. They are genuinely good humans, and are AMAZING mechanics. The European specialist will not let a cheap part go into the vehicle because he does not want a customer to come back for the same complaint, he wants them to leave with the problem fixed, not patched. The diesel tech... he is slow at what he does, but tremendously meticulous about making sure things are done correctly the first time. You will need patience but you will not be disappointed. The other two technicians that do pretty much all the other vehicles, they are more concerned with the customers safety than the size of their paycheck. They will go back into a job and check out a vehicle if they believe that they did anything sub-quality. I have gone through and read a few of the negative reviews of the shop and remember some of those customers. I am sure that all of them were caused by a miscommunication by said customer. The best way to keep from having a bad experience at any automotive shop is to ask as many questions until you are %100 comprehensive of what is going on. If I were someone that had no idea how to work on vehicles, I would tow my car the 32 miles from my house to that shop because I trust them to fix my car correctly, and cost effectively. I hope this helps at least one person looking for a quality mechanic.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave your feedback. We value your business.

Used after market parts (fuel filter, etc) without informing me I had a choice, would have elected for oem. my vehicle then needed thousands more in repairs as they were not compatible with my engine and necessitated a new fuel pump and more. Took to different mechanic to clean up the mess. I would avoid taking European vehicles to this shop. No issues with our domestics.

We always offer customers the option of not using after market parts. However, in your case and many other cases customers choose after market because of the cost savings. Understanding parts malfunction, is one the reasons we offer the best warranty in the metroplex.
